The Lost Dream
As I wake up in the morning, I find out that I am no longer lying in my comfortable bed; instead, I am lying on a vast plain. It is very hot, and a warm breeze is blowing. ‘Wait a second, where’s my hands?’ They’ve turned into hooves. ‘Why are my ears longer? Why are there stripes on my body?’ I realize that I have magically transformed into a zebra.
I hear a deep growl behind me, and when I look back, a large cheetah springs at me. I start to run at full gallop across the plain, the wind whistling in my ear. However, the cheetah is faster than me, so I need to do something. When the cheetah is about to kill me, I turn sharply. The cheetah can’t turn very well, so it tumbles on the ground, frustrated. When it finally gets back up, it chases me with frightening speed. I know this time I’m done for. But, miraculously, the cheetah doesn’t see a trunk in its path, and it trips, falling heavily to the ground once more. I can’t believe that I survived!
The cheetah hisses in anger and the chase resumes. This time, we draw near to a large puddle of water. I jump with all my strength, and barely reached the other side. When the cheetah attempts the same jump, a crocodile suddenly rises from the water and gives the cheetah a nasty bite to the stomach. The cheetah and the crocodile start to fight and I have time to run away. When they stop fighting, the cheetah probably thinks about giving up chasing me. However, the cheetah is still hungry, so it rushes me again. This time, even though I feel determined to escape the cheetah’s jaws, I am tired. Therefore, I pause for a moment to rest; the cheetah springs at me......
Suddenly, I wake up in the real world. I find out that my hands are still there, but there are blood stains on my body.
