Read History with Jack 18 - Using Computer

A few centuries ago, Homo sapiens brought about a new age of technological development. The Industrial and Scientific Revolutions were a time of great inventions, that lasts to this day. The new innovations that were created made our lives easier and more comfortable. One of these great inventions was the computer.

The computer is good to for storing data and for doing complex operations. The first modern stored-program computer was developed in 1948 and from that point onward, the computer would change the world. After this computer was invented, the later computers developed, dramatically increasing processing speed and other hardware and software capabilities.

I like computers a lot because they make my life easier and more convenient. By using computers, I can access a lot of resources online and broaden my horizon, thereby extending my scope of knowledge. In addition, computers make communication more convenient. I can communicate with friends over long distances instantly. Moreover, computers make supplementary education more accessible. For poor people, they will get a fairer chance to receive high-level education through computers. Online learning platforms make learning cheaper while still being interesting.

Computers really ushered in great changes for humanity. We can know more things through computers; intercontinental connectivity has been improved; and education is more accessible.

However, there are misuses of computers. Some people infringe your privacy and expose information on the web which results in cybercrime. Moreover, using computers can be addictive, lessening the time you spend with your friends and family.

The computer led to many further developments, such as the internet, AI, and many other advanced technologies that are still waiting to be discovered. In the future, we might be able to invent new computers that can think on their own (AI). From that point, we need to be aware of our own survival and be prudent as we create something that might someday overtake us.
