Read History with Jack 4 - King Scorpion

  Archaeologists have already found many tombs of the great Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, but according to some estimates, there are still many pharaonic tombs not found. One of them is an unproven Pharaoh called King Scorpion. I wish I could discover if King Scorpion existed and what he did.

   From many historical sources and texts, people in the past believed that Menes was the first king to rule united Egypt. However, in 1898, archaeologists found a little stone tablet which they called the “Narmer Palette”. It described an unknown king wearing a crown of unification, and there were patterns of scorpions around him. In addition,there was a staff that was discovered that year, which showed a man wearing a white hat, and there were also scorpion patterns around him. Some historians think that they discovered a new Pharaoh, while others disagreed. However, about 100 years later, a German archaeologist found a tomb, and he claimed that it was the tomb of King Scorpion; but archaeologists were still unsure about the existence of this mysterious Pharaoh.

   If I discovered that King Scorpion existed,then we would learn new history of Ancient Egypt, and we could understand their history better.

   To find about the existence of King Scorpion, I would first search for historical books about King Scorpion to discover where most historians think the location of his tomb is and do some research online. Second, I would go to the predicted site and dig around it. If I dighis tomb out, I will send pictures to historians and archaeologists for analysis. Last but not least, I would disclose the pictures and analysis to the public so that they will know about King Scorpion and collect clues for further research.
