Three Cups of Tea3:Education

Education is very important in daily life. If we don’t receive any education, our world would be in chaos.

Education has many benefits, both for the society and for the individual. Education can provide a better future for someone’s family and country. For instance, education can reduce or eradicate poverty in the poor areas of the world. In addition, education can make people healthier because through it we learn the value of hygiene, medicine, and even train doctors. Moreover, education can improve a country’s economy. More successful adults earn more money and become more reliable tax payers for the government. Furthermore, education can promote lasting peace; through education more people will know that war is bloody and horrible. If Hawking and Einstein didn’t receive their education, humans would not know many deeper mysteries of the universe. If Yuan Long Ping didn’t receive his education, he could not have developed hybrid rice, leaving countless people to suffer from hunger.

Education has many individual benefits. In work, if you receive good education, you may earn more money than other people, and you will probably have more knowledge. For instance, if our teacher Pascal didn’t receive his education, he could not teach us because he wouldn’t have the necessary knowledge. In addition, besides physical need, humans need spiritual enjoyments, such as reading a book. But the premise is you must recognize the words through education, otherwise you can’t understand what’s going on in a book. Education is a marvelous way to cultivate and realize this human need.

In my opinion, education is really important. We receive education from someone else, and that person is often knowledgeable, intelligent, and somehow great. However, if that person doesn’t receive a good education, then we probably wouldn’t receive a good education either. If this went on for decades and generations, humans would be basically animals again. What makes humans different from animals is that humans have knowledge, and that they are educated. Education is like a boundary line between humanity and our animalistic nature. In addition, it is worthy to spend a great deal of [my parents'] money and time on education. Perhaps you will still fail to be admitted to a prestigious university or college, but you definitely enjoy the process of learning things what you didn’t know before.

We humans will always need education because it changes lives for the better every day.
