   The first time I realized there was injustice in the world was in March. One evening I was just casually browsing the internet. Then, something caught my eye. It was an article’s two images that caught my attention and led me to read a piece about comparing wealth disparity in different areas of China.

    The first picture was taken in a big city like Beijing, and another in a small town in a remote mountain area in China. The photo taken in the metropolis showed an innumerable number of cars parked at a shopping mall. There were alot of expensive cars like Audis and Mercedes Benzes, showing modernism and prosperity in an advanced city. However, in the photo taken in the rural area, a few dusty and old cars lined the road, which itself was battered and worn down. The houses in the background were so shabby that it was hard to imagine someone living there. This was totally different from the situation in the bustling city.

   I was stunned afterwards about the wealth disparity and social injustice in China. Today, many people still live inextreme poverty while I enjoy the benefits of a big city. In China, many poor kids cannot afford good education in better schools because they are impoverished. Thus, they can only stay in a local school in their destituteregions with poor educational resources. Moreover, even if by some miracle apoor kid manages to get admitted into a good school in the city, he or she would remain isolated from his or her peers from the city. It is a social stereotype rooted deep in the society of rich citizens that impove rished people are indecent and we should keep our distance from them. Even if theim poverished children graduate from good schools, they then face the outrageousprices of houses and other costs necessary for living in the city, which is extremely difficult for them.

   Social injustice is everywhere. No matter how small or big, governments of all countries should pay attention to this issue, because it can directly impact human society, and from there our survival on our fragile planet.
