Three Cups of Tea1 : Humanitarians

There are some notable humanitarians living in the world today. They differ from each other, but they all want to help people who are having troubles with their lives.

A humanitarian is an individual, who is responsible for fighting the big human issues and troubles such as poverty, violence, and warfare. They are often treated as heroes in the world because they accomplish feats for the promotion of humanity. Humanitarians should always appear with empathy and love for the troubled people and make suggestions to the governments for the improvement of standards of living. In addition, some humanitarians donate lots of money to poor areas hoping to eradicate poverty, like Bill Gates. The reason that humanitarians are inspiring is because they do a lot of good things as often as possible, so people respect them.

A typical humanitarian in China is Confucius. He was born in an epoch that had frequent wars. He disapproved of the corrupt politics of the ruling nobles and thought that the public did not deserve to be deceived in this manner. Therefore, he proposed that a ruler of a country must rule with morality, justice, and intelligence so the citizens could have a merry life. He was concerned with his own region so he persuaded the governor to accept his theory. However, many governors didn’t believe his suggestions and ignored Confucius. Frustrated with those governor’s attitudes, he returned from a 14-year odyssey and spent the rest of his life teaching a growing group of disciples, who spread his teachings throughout China. Those ideas were finally adopted after Confucius’ death, and earned him lasting respect throughout history.

If I were to be a humanitarian, I would choose to work against poverty because I can’t bear seeing people suffering from being poor.

Humanitarians are very important and very inspiring, in changing our world and human beings in general.
